Dear Brother Knights,

June 2023 report: Final meeting of the KC year, amazing! I have been honored to serve as your Grand Knight this past year. Feel like we had a good year; 

· Tootsie Roll Drivewent well, thank you Dale! 

· Trunk and Treatwas a big success, thank you Zauggs!, 

· Men of Action did ‘Into the Breach’, several KC-5544 members participate in Men of Action. 

· Three Christmas parties; Family Christmas Party, the Toczylowski’s, Senior Christmas Party, the Kouri’s,  the Adult Christmas Party, the Feit’s. Thank you all for helping us celebrate the wonderful Christmas Season!

· Alan Dole was busy, chairing the ‘Christ in Christmas’ poster contest and the Free Throw contest. Both ran through St Jude & LaSalle schools, which allowed for record participation! Not to mention we had some of the best hardware (trophies) in the state for the winners, thanks Xxxxxx for donating! 

· We hosted a St Joseph Holy Hour which was well attended. 

· Bottle Drivewas held again, with good participation, expect a big contribution to Bridgehaven, thanks Dennis & Bob. 

· Fish Frieswere back and as good as ever, nice job Jay and all the supporting cast! 

· Breakfastswere a great success not only for the KCs, but we supported the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Lasalle Schools, and Faith Formation. Not to mention the comradery provided to our guests! 

· Feel like we got everything back on track that we wanted to except, BINGO. Feel bad that this is still lingering. We have tried and will continue to work to resolve and get this back up and rolling. 

Thank you to everyone for a great year! Cannot wait to see what the next year has in store, we have already had discussions of new and more opportunities. Dave Olson will be a great Grand Knight! We are in great hands.

July 12 (send Weds of the month) is our next scheduled meeting. Will be using this time for the end of year banquet and installation of officers. This is a big event, as you just read we have a lot to be proud of, not to mention honoring our new leadership / officers. The festivities will start at 6pm, dinner and drinks provided, spouses are encouraged to attend. Hope to see you all there. I will be sending out an RSVP to try to get a headcount.

● Bottle Drive – 6/17 & 18 Masses, need volunteers to receive Bottles. Don’t forget to turn in your Bottles.

● Financial Planning – 6/27 7pm, Thaddeus Hall we will be hosting a watch party, requesting members to attend to count towards the councils requirement of participation. 

● BINGO / Taxes – sent another request to IRS seeking to reopen our initial application and repurpose our application fee. Dennis Dye & I are meeting with Mike Stallman (CPA) (KC-5544 member) to review options. Also have been given Paul Faulk’s name (KC-state Iowa) that can help us, will be setting up a review with him as well.

● Warmers SCF (Corn cooking) requesting to use, granted approval for their use.

● Leonard Buser (KC-5544) member, seeking assistance to / from Masses, preferably 8:30 but flexible. If you are able and willing to assist, please let me know and I will get you the proper contact information

● Pastor Picture in Thaddeus Hall, Fr Nick needs added, Bob Hiems working on it, thanks Bon

● KC State Golf Tournament (7/15) Wildcat for more information https://www.iowakofc.org/golf 

● Steve Vonnahme (State Deputy) attended our meeting, gave us Paul Faulk’s name to reach out to regarding non-exempt status. Plan to break up district 28 (our district) into two, split down the middle of Cedar Rapids (East / West sides), this will allow for two smaller districts, and hopefully more appealing to identify District Deputies, we have been without a District Deputy for a long time. Anyone interested and becoming District Deputy, let us know. In the interim, Steve Vonnahme will be serving as our District Deputy (his term as State Deputy is coming to an end). Thanks for attending our meeting and all you do for the good of the KCs!

● Knights of the month; Dennis Dye & Bob Hiems - organizing / managing the Fish Fries, could not have happened without you! Ordering, tracking, serving, cleaning, you do it all. Thank you so much!
